That their Sidebar and Gadgets are not working properly. This is not for every machine but many users have reported this problem Gadgets in Vista fails to display properly on Windows 7 Desktop. If you have installed Windows 7 beta then you mustīe aware of the bug that whenever UAC is switched off, Sidebar and Gadgets, Add the ones you want, put them where you want (side, top,Īnywhere) and thats your gadgets as they were in vista. You dont need side bar anymore, rightclick anywhere on desktop and goto double click it and it goes to same screen as explained in beginning of solution. Another way to get the gadgets on you desktop is to go to control panel under you start button and then if you are in category view which is if you have only few icons so to get to gadgets in upper right corner there is option that says VIEW BY: and here is where you choose large or small icons and you will see many more icons appear and one of them is gadgets icon. to have it display on the desktop just double left click any of them and they will show on there.If you dont like some you put up you can just hover with mouse over it and it will give you an X to close it or little wrench which allows to customize the widget it self. do a right click with your mouse on any empty space on the desktop and then in the menu that comes up do a left click on Gadgets and it will open up a window with all the options you can put on your desktop. For windows 7 to get gadgets back on the desktop you need to minimize all running programs and make sure you see your desktop.
